“Detailed City Experience” Release for Chicago & Las Vegas Likely Imminent

Minor changes to Apple’s maps of Chicago and Las Vegas in recent days suggest that their “Detailed City Experience” releases are imminent.
In Chicago, for instance, Apple has replaced its 3D model for the Willis Tower with a new, more detailed one; models for The Art Institute of Chicago and Trump International Hotel are missing; and the models for The Field Museum and Chicago’s flagship Apple Store have turned white—with the Apple Store becoming laughably tall.
In Las Vegas, meanwhile, Apple has replaced its 3D model for Allegiant Stadium and made numerous other small changes:
On top of all this, iOS 16’s new splash-screen for Maps specifically mentions new 3D landmarks for Chicago and Las Vegas—suggesting that these cities will be live by iOS 16’s launch in mid-September (if not sooner):
