List of Custom Landmark Icons Added to Apple’s Redesigned Map

As part of its 2021 cartographic redesign, Apple began adding a new style of landmark icon to its map:


This new icon style replaces the old style that Apple had used between 2012 and 2021 (though most of these old icons still appear on the map today):


These new custom landmark icons are currently available in seventeen metropolitan areas: the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, New York City, London, Washington, San Diego, Philadelphia, Montréal, Toronto, Vancouver, Atlanta, Seattle, Miami, Chicago, Las Vegas, Sydney, and Melbourne:

There are currently 230 new custom landmark icons, total.

The San Francisco Bay Area has the most custom icons (31), while the Seattle area has the least (2). On average, each metro has 14 icons—though it varies dramatically from area to area and more than half of the cities have fewer than 12 icons.
