On May 12, 2021, Apple released “Look Around” for the Atlanta area:

This is Apple’s fourteenth Look Around release since the first Look Around images were published nearly two years ago in June 2019:

And it brings the total number of Look Around coverage areas to twenty-eight:

As of this latest release, Look Around now covers 22.7% of the U.S. population...

...and sixteen of the twenty largest U.S. urban regions:

(Dallas / Fort Worth is currently the largest U.S. metropolitan area without Look Around coverage.)

Look Around has been rolling out very slowly compared to Google’s inital rollout of Street View. For instance, here’s Google’s Street View coverage of the U.S. eighteen months after it first started publishing Street View imagery:

This latest Look Around release arrives 98 days after Apple’s last Look Around release on February 3, 2021. (On average, Apple has been releasing new Look Around areas every 49 days).

Apple Maps vehicles first visited the Atlanta area in June 2015—5 years and 11 months ago. According to the imagery timestamps in the Apple Maps app, Apple’s Look Around imagery of the Atlanta area was taken between March and October 2020.
