On December 15, 2022, Apple’s proprietary, in-house map data was expanded to several new countries and regions, including Belgium, The Netherlands, and Luxembourg (a.k.a. “Benelux”); Switzerland and Liechtenstein; and Israel:
This is the sixteenth time that Apple has expanded its new map data since its public launch in September 2018.

LOOK AROUND COVERAGE
Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Israel have received full Look Around coverage.
Meanwhile, just four cities seem to have received the enhanced version of Look Around that includes POI labels: Amsterdam, Brussels, Luxembourg City, and Vaduz.
APPLE’S NEXT EXPANSION
Apple is likeliest to expand next to Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark.
Taiwan and Austria also have particularly high chances of receiving expansions over the next six months.
(Note: An earlier version of this page also listed Japan as a likely expansion candidate for 2023. This was a transcription error meant to say “Taiwan”. I’m not expecting Apple to expand its proprietary map data to Japan for at least the next couple of years.)
